The other day I announced that I was teaming up with some other great bloggers to bring you a month of bacon recipes! I hope you have stretchy pants for the duration of the month, judging by some of the recipes I've already seen, we're going to be needing them! :)
Today, I have a simple and basic "recipe" .... A few years ago, I learned I could bake my bacon in the oven and I wouldn't have to worry about the bacon grease burns! I love that my bacon cooks up nice and crisp - and mostly flat and straight! It's the OCD in me.
For those who already know about Oven-Fried Bacon, this is elementary .... for those of you who have never tried it - be prepared to fall in love! It could not be simpler! I like mine a little more on the crisp side, so I bake mine for the longest time listed .... sometimes a bit longer if I buy the thick cut bacon!
Oven-Fried Bacon
Printable recipe
Yield: 8-12 slices
8-12 slices of bacon
Preheat oven to 400°F. Place a cooking rack on a baking sheet. Lay the bacon out on the cooking rack so that the pieces are not touching each other. Bake for 15-18 minutes or until bacon reaches desired crispness.
Remove the bacon from cooking rack to paper towel-lined plate to drain.
*Note: If you do not have a cooking rack, you can line your baking sheet with aluminum foil and place your bacon directly on the foil. Do not overlap the edges. Proceed as stated above.
